A look back
Nostalgia is an undefinable emotion, almost like an emotional echo. It is like a time travel to all those memories that we once lived, all the sentiments that we once felt and those in that moment comes rushing back to us. And we feel happy with a pinch of emptiness. Then suddenly a question arises, "Why the hell did we grow up?" Isn't it ironic how in our childhood days we wanted to grow up and now that we are, we so badly want to go back in time!
Now lets go down the memory lane. Remember, how in our childhood days we actually were early sleepers and early risers, that too just because of the school which we apparently hated (well not actually hate). Then we used to wait for the school to end so that we could go back home and play outside with friends till dawn. When our parents didn't give us any money to buy chips, toffee, soft drinks etc, that's when our grandparents entered to rescue us. Back in those days everything was so cheap, in 5 ruppees only, we used to get a lot to eat. In the evening when power cuts and whole house becomes a ghost place, that's when the real fun starts, because it used to be the time to play hide and seek. Then at night sleeping under the stars gave the perfect ending to a perfect day.
And all those other memories that if I start writing, will take days to complete. But to mention a few :- Dancing in the rain, sailing paper boats in the muddy water, the video games we played, that flipping off the ludo board when we were about to loose, summer vacations visits to our maternal grandparents, the stories they and our parents told about their childhood, the fun with family and friends, that bond and that love. And a lot more that I cannot put in words.
Everything was so beautiful, simple and carefree. Blessed were those days that I can never ever forget. I am grateful for being born before the technologies kicked in. The childhood that we 90's kid had, today's kids will never be able to experience that fully.
We all are still kids deep down in our heart. Let's be that kid again. Open the scrapbook of your mind, and relive in your Nostalgic happy days and please do share some of your precious moments from your childhood days.
Thankyou and Keep Smiling😃

DeleteWell 5 rupees! Aah that was a feast for us at that time... Maybe some of them don't remember a toffee named "kiss me" of parley company came at the price of Rs 1.and for that we got 4 toffees (25 paise for 1 toffee "Aquarius" 😄)name any biscuits, snacks, even fried items like somosa we get it all in Rs. 5 some snacks like natkhat, crax, oyes! Just name it and it was enough for 1 person.
DeleteWell I never had a chance of getting pocket money from my parent but yeah I used to get learnt this lesson from them to help my grand parents in anyway possible and for that I've a line from one of my poem which is based on my life is that, "sewa karke Baba (grand father)ki apne Jeb meri bhar jaati thi". That's the most beautiful lesson that I got to learnt at that early age that you can have everything in your life, just push yourself a little.
I totally enjoyed my childhood with all the beating I've received, all the love I got and all the important lessons that made me a mature man I'm today.
That's all I've to share.
Thankyou,
